Although Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain is acting like he's outraged by the skyrocketing gas prices, calling for a temporary suspension of the federal gas tax and a halt to increasing the U.S. strategic petroleum reserve to lower prices, McCain is really big oil's best friend.

One measure of this strong bond can be seen in the fact that oil companies have contributed $516,000 to McCain's campaign, according to the latest filings released by the Federal Election Commission.
