NPR was reporting that the FBI raided the Office of Special Counsel
Edited on Tue May-06-08 02:26 PM by ThomWV
Don't know much about it, just heard something on the radio while I was out in the garden. Haven't read the article yet but here it is: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=90223448

"NPR - May 6, 2008 · FBI agents on Tuesday raided the offices of Special Counsel Scott J. Bloch, who oversees protection for federal whistleblowers. The agents seized computers and shut down email service as part of an obstruction of justice probe, NPR has exclusively learned.

FBI agents also searched Bloch's home and a Special Counsel field office in Dallas. A grand jury in Washington issued subpoenas for several OSC employees, including Bloch, according to NPR sources who spoke on condition their names not be used.

Those developments came about on a Tuesday morning that had seemed no different than any other weekday in the Washington headquarters of the Office of Special Counsel. But at 10 a.m., the OSC's national email system went down, and the FBI arrived."

1. It's beginning ......
I just mentioned to a friend that I've been thinking about the movie, "Seven Days In May," in which the military plots to overthrow a President who supports a nuclear disarmament treaty. I said, "It's May, and we're about to live 'Seven Days In May' in reverse."

This is just the beginning, I think, of the plan that Fuckface and his White House cabal have had in place since they were annointed by the Supreme Court in 2000.

I have such a bad feeling all the time. A feeling of dread.

3. If you were GWB, what goals would you set for yourself for the remainder of the term?

-Erase files from my computer
-Burn my diary
-Start prosecution against everybody in Guantanamo
...

4. Bring on the end of the world
Don't forget - his born-again faith tells him that Armageddon is just the logical next step towards Eternal Salvation.

I wouldn't put anything past that miserable little prick.

7. I hope he lives long enough to see that History judges him a failure.

8. I doubt he cares
You'd have to possess a conscience, something that's horridly lacking in that sociopath.

5. Actually, I thought the same thing until
I read the rest of the article. Turns out that Bloch, a Bush appointee, had, among other things refused to investigate "any claims of discrimination based on sexual orientation." It also turns out that when it was leaked to the press, Bloch retaliated against members of his staff he thought were behind it by creating a new office in Detroit and demanding that they go to Detroit or get fired.

Only in a Bush administration would the head of the agency designed to protect whistelblowers have a whistle blown on him and then retaliate against the whistleblowers.

Oh, "In addition to concerns about obstruction of justice, investigators are also looking into whether Bloch violated the Hatch Act, a Congressional mandate that prohibits employees from using their offices for partisan political purposes."

Bloch sounds like quite a piece of work.

6. Yes, I read that,
and felt a little better. He's an abomination, there's no question about that.

Still, I don't trust the FBI any more than I trust any government agency. I have far too much experience with them, especially, to think they're the Good Guys in a situation where, frankly, there are no good guys.

9. Maybe the DC madam sent them an email before she was murdered.
I hear Cheney and McCain were regulars. Cheney used the services while at Halliburton.
