10. I Usually Go to BigBlueInteractive.com,
a New York Giants fan site, for some relief. Even offseason, it's pretty active (and pretty evenly balanced politically).

I sporadically visit Crosstalk2, a Yahoo discussion group for academic scholars specializing in the historical Jesus. I do not post, but have been working through the 20,000-post archive.

I sometimes read Brad DeLong's economics blog and Freakonomics' NY Times page.

And whenever I'm in the mood, I read the stock market discussions on Clearstation.com. I find that following the market and investing are excellent ways to stay objective. There are always two sides to be made for the market and if you become obsessed with one, it won't be long until you get whacked or whipsawed.

http://gentillygirl.com ("Witch by nature, bitch by choice, New Orleanian by blood"!)

http://peoplegetready.jockamofeenanay.com (not shabby at all for a guy who looks like he might get carded for cigarettes :-) )

and many others: most link to one another, so click away!

28. Excellent!
What, might I inquire to ask, are you doing down there? Since 8/29/05, I have expressed my willingness to return and put my unique skills and talents to use in the recovery effort; the caveat is that I must actually be compensated for doing so. If I were in a position to do the AmeriCorps thing, I would have done it a couple of years ago. This insistence on fair compensation, of course, was the reason for my original departure in the early '90s...

39. I play PC games, and mess around with 3D modeling.
I've been a gamer since the days when the Atari 2600 was the most popular system out there. Today, I don't own any consoles; I'm more involved in PC gaming and 3D modeling.

3D modeling is very technical, but deeply satisfying. It's just wonderful to see something you made come to life on the screen. If you're curious about what 3D modeling is all about, I would suggest you give a look at Blender, a full-featured open source 3D modeling application. To get the most from Blender, I also suggest you install Yafray, a rendering engine for Blender that allows for use of global illumination.

Here's an image made with Blender and Yafray (I did not make this):

He's always so much happier and more relaxed after a round of golf. It must be like meditation for him or something. Now that the weather's getting nicer, he's trying to get out more. He would've tonight, but I made him mow the lawn instead. ;)

Great for work since it's random images/jokes and you can view for a few seconds or surf for an hour or more.

(If any of you are going there, be warned, it is random images from the net, that means you could see literally anything, from convention photos, to cakes, ads from the past, nudity, car accidents, puke, blood, piss, baby pictures, short articles, photoshopped everything, etc.)
