Sirius Left 146 - I never hear much talk about it

Does anyone listen to it? I like the guy in the afternoons on my way home from work. I think it's Mark Thompson, but I'm new to Sirius.

1. I have it.

I have it so that I can listen to Malloy, from 6-9 PM (Pacific Standard Time) if I'm taking my kid to one of her activities.

I can also listen to Thom Hartmann for an hour in the morning; the other two hours are broadcast after Malloy; I can switch to KTLK 1150 for the other two hours of Hartmann if I'm in a good area.

I have to switch immediately if Alex Bennett comes on in the early morning, or Lynn Samuels at 10 AM; I can't stand either of them.

I'm a member of NovaM; and use their podcasts and stream.

Having Sirius is also useful for their music.

Also, this white, middle-aged mom enjoys listening to Thompson, and the hour of Stephanie Miller that they broadcast.

3. Lynn Samuels. I'm not a fan

She went on and on about the FLDS people and how they did nothing wrong. I'm sorry, but when you have 16 year old girls who have given birth to 4 children, SOMEONE is doing SOMETHING wrong!

5. The worst thing about Lynn Samuels

is that they actually cut Thom Hartmann off after one hour so they can air that shit live.

The main reason I dropped Sirius was that my radio was a piece of crap and I couldn't get a signal around here. But about the only show I really listened to on Sirius Left was Mike Malloy. At least they get that one right (live and the whole show) unlike XM.

6. What's really scary is that I love Lynn Samuels

but I absolutely despise her war against Barack Obama, which is why I'll listen to anything *BUT* Sirius Left while she's on.

I especially agree with what you said about Steph and I forgot to mention how much I do not like Bennett.

At times he & Samuels don't really seem all that liberal except in their ability to use the F word over the airwaves as much as possible.

I also get to catch a half hour of the Ed Schultz show before that. I like Make It Plain w/Mark Thompson, but to put him on, Sirius cuts the final hour of Big Eddie between 5 and 6 every day and if I'm late getting away from work I miss Ed altogether.

The only thing on 146 I really do NOT like is Lynne Samuels who is on right after the one hour of Thom Hartmann (my favorite). They only give him one hour and she gets two! Her voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard and is NOT a good representative of any kind of progressive thinking.

13. Terrestrial radio and this admin are holding it up. It's been trying to get approval

for more than 1 year! I think Exxon Mobil took a month, as did many other major, major mergers. It's just disgusting how big money lobbyists can put the squeeze on the merger. I'm missing baseball, for chrissake!

8. Alex Bennett is out of his element on Sirius Left

His show in San Francisco, which featured a live studio audience and daily visits by locally and nationally noted comics, was great. The problem is that he can't seem to do a decent show outside the Bay Area. He had a disasterous stint in Miami in the early 90's, then went back to SF, but got knocked around due to ownership and management changes.

I'm not hearing good things, and I don't care for his promos.

She's more Republican than many Republicans. Can't STAND her.
