The righties are getting their panties in a wad over the Wikipedia. Again.
This time someone seems to stumbled upon a Scorpion's album cover from THIRTY-TWO YEARS AGO and decided to pitch a fit over it.

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?pageId=63722

the article in question;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgin_Killer

Full disclosure; I've had a hand in the discussion at that article's page, and have edited to retain the image.

2. Hurry! Let's eradicate all of history! Things that were acceptable to the rest of the world 32 years
ago, but not to prudish America, should be eliminated! Lord forbid that somebody in the glorious USA should ever see skin!

3. Wow, I didn't know wikipedia had all this stuff!

However, in addition to textbook anatomy images, the following can also be found on Wikipedia:

Recordings of women experiencing orgasms
Videos of nude men participating in "ejaculation educational demonstrations"
Detailed photographs of men and women masturbating
Images of mammary intercourse
Close-up images of topless women and male and female sexual anatomy
Large-scale photos of men performing oral sex on one another (and performing oral sex on themselves)
An illustrated list of sex positions
Threesomes
Photos of nude strippers

WND readers will be busy looking up all this stuff now!

>>>>>Large-scale photos of men performing oral sex on one another (and performing oral sex on themselves)<<<<<

Um, on the latter, are these guys with double joints or something? I find it very difficult to picture a guy performing oral sex on himself, otherwise.

9. Do they also want to do a comprehensive investigation of Vitter and Craig as well?

:eyes: Silly question, I admit. But this would be a lot more current.
And what about OxyRush's escapade in the Dominican Republic. There
are laws against traveling to other countries for immoral purposes
that could be applied if only an average investigation were done.

10. Looks like the censors have already been there
Now the only album cover pictured is one that is disturbingly reminiscent of Spinal Tap. Is that Derek Smalls?

Then again, since I'm in Uhmurrkkka, maybe the Department of Homeland Decency and Morality is keeping my machine from seeing the dirrrrrty, dirrrrrty, nasssssty picture.

Ack.

12. They said the same about a Led Zeppelin album.
The cover had Robert Plants kids playing naked in a rocky stream. Then there was the movie Paper Moon. That featured a nude 10 year old Brooke Shields. Some even say Sally Jessy Raphiel violated child pornography laws when she broadcast an uncensored photo of a baby in a bathtub. That was on a show discussing what is and is not child pornography.

14. Just for clarity's sake
"Paper Moon" was Tatum O'Neal.

The Brooke Shields stink was about "Pretty Baby."

Your point is still valid.

What abou the Bernie Ward guilty plea? Is he a victim or a perp?

16. You're right! I must have been having a senior moment.
 I don't know why I confuse those two movies. Other than it was a loooong time ago.

The scene in Pretty Baby that prompted the out cry of child pornography. Was full frontal nudity as Brooke stood up out of a bathtub. I think that was the point that Sally trying to make on her show. What is the difference between that scene and the infamous first bath photo's many mothers have.
I saw Pretty Baby at the drive in. Yes, it was THAT long ago. I didn't really think anything about the scene until I read about it. It was just a little girl getting out of a bath tub. I don't even remember the plot line of the movie anymore. I just remember that it seemed like people were trying to make more of it than what it actually was.

13. I think the cover does fall into the kiddie porn genre
Especially along with the title and where the "cracks" are in the cover. This isn't naked kids swimming in a creek. It is definitely disturbing.

22. No I'm really not in favor of this cover
It's one thing to present naked kids as art (which I'm not really in favor of but there's an argument there), and it's another to present them as art with sexual connotations. That album cover was pretty f'in out of bounds IMO.

17. You know what? You can't even argue that this was done for "artistic" reasons.
"Band member Klaus Meine acknowledged that he was shocked when he saw the original album cover, but was pressed by the record company to do something controversial."

It was a money-making, exploitive move by the record company, pure and simple. I'm not for censorship, but I do think that that cover is appalling.

The original ban in the U.S. was the correct decision...

(I don't particularly care what wiki does about it however; that's a matter for them and their lawyers.)
