Which movie character does John McCain remind you of?
I think McCain is like Zelig, the Woody Allen character who becomes whatever he needs to to blend in with whatever group he is with at the time.

Please post your ideas in reply.

29. That is an excellent choice.
When we see him we kind of like him, but still know he's kind of an a-hole. Something there that many people can connect with, but something's not quite right, either.

They even seem to have some similar speech patterns and mannerisms.

48. I was wondering if some else had thought of McGoo as well.
I can just see him at the Republican convention. After his acceptance speech,
he chuckles to himself, "Oh, McCain, you've done it again!"

40. I hope not,
Popeye always triumphed. Yes, there is a slight physical resemblance; and both were/are naval officers (Popeye is still active duty, I believe) But I can't picture McCain beating the tar out of somebody five times bigger than he is to save Cindy as Popeye did many times for Olive. And Popeye would never leave Olive Oyl for some trophy blond beer-heiress (a spinach heiress maybe, but probably not.)

27. BattleStar Galactica Saul Tigh
I swear they made this character after McCain.

"His father, a viper pilot, and grandfather, a Presidential advisor, were also named "Saul Tigh." He has struggled with alcoholism for much of his life, a problem that stems from Posttraumatic stress disorder connected to the First Cylon War and his depression after he was mustered out of the fleet. Despite this, he has excellent tactical skills and is fiercely loyal, especially to William Adama. He is also a hidden Cylon that doesn't know he is a Cylon.
