Actor Farina arrested after gun found in luggage at LAX
"LOS ANGELES - Actor Dennis Farina was charged with a felony Sunday at Los Angeles International Airport after a loaded gun was found in his carry-on luggage.

When the weapon was discovered at a security checkpoint, the 64-year-old actor said he had forgotten the .22-caliber handgun was in his luggage, police said.

Farina was booked for investigation of carrying a concealed weapon, said Sgt. Dennis Beacham. Bail was set at $25,000 before police discovered the weapon was not registered. Charges were upgraded to a felony, and he is now being held in lieu of $35,000 bail..."

1. Free Dennis Farina (Richard and Mimi too;)

Dennis Farina should have an exemption for this sort of thing.

He's too cool to arrest. Just watch Midnight Run, a national treasure

3. And unregistered!
That means it was probably stolen like the weapons that so many of those people have. Add an additional felony for that. He should spend a long time in prison for this violent act.

9. Sorry, I wasn't talking about actors
with "those people." I thought it would be obvious I was talking about those dangerous people that carry around things in public places that could kill a dozen or more people.

One thing I read said that dangerous weapon carried 17 explosives. Assuming each shot only went through one person, it could have killed 17 people!

11. I heard that he has a special drawer in his kitchen full of big sharp KNIVES! CLUTCH THE PEARLS!!!!!
When you describe a magazine full of pistol ammo as "17 explosives".
you make it clear that you have absolutely -NO- idea what you are
talking about.

You aren't contributing, and you certainly aren't HELPING the idea
you support when you post nonsense that makes you look so foolish.

8. Lou Dobbs' wife Debi was arrested in 2003 for the same thing.
Got busted at the Newark airport for packing a .25 caliber pistol in her carry-on. I wonder how that case turned out.

15. And there was the case of Senator Webb's aide.
Edited on Tue May-13-08 03:15 AM by Lasher
Executive assistant Phillip Thompson was arrested on March 26 last year when he tried to enter a Senate office building with a pistol in his posession. Webb had given the gun to Thompson as Thompson had driven the senator to an airport earlier that day. Thompson was supposed to have dropped the gun off at a location in Virginia, and forgot it was in his briefcase.

Also, there was the 2004 case when Rep. John Hostettler (R-IN) was busted for carrying a 9 mm Glock to the Louisville airport.

Edit: You know, it's probably good that this happens every now and then, so we'll know if airport security is awake or not.
