Joe Scarborough in the tank again?
He misses more Monday work than anyone I've ever knwon who held a job for any length of time. Where I come from, if you chronically miss Mondays, they call AA and have an intervention...or you get fired.

1. Nah...He Actually Tries To Have A Family Life...
IRC, he has a handicapped child and his family still resides in Florida. He commutes to New York to do his gig...whereas he used to be able to do his evening show from Talahassee. I'm sure he's got it written in his deal for extra time off (remember, yesterday was Mothers Day) for holidays and special occasions. It's not easy splitting your time and life between family and job when it involves two cities and lots of travel.

2. If he's commuting from Tallahassee it could be the airlines
Tallahassee has piss poor air service and is frequently fogged in mornings. Heck, I can remember when they literally closed the main air terminal from Saturday night to Monday morning! They've only recently added some commuter flights to improve service. Connections used to be so bad I had to fly to Atlanta to get a connecting flight to Tampa.

But I thought Scarborough was from closer to Panama City - and their service is even worse than Tallahassee.

4. Sorry, but that's a BS excuse. If you accept a job, and it happens
tosomewhere you can't get to ON TIME, then you MOVE!!!! If you don't want to move, then you find another job!

10. Once in a while yes, but NOT all the time! I never watch Joe, but the
OP indicated that he takes LOTS of Mondays off. That shouldn't be any more acceptable than Congress working 3 1/2 days a week because they didn't want to move to Wash. either! Remember, when the Pubs were in the majority, they made that rule change so that they could spend a WHOLE weekend with their family and not fly to DC until sometime Monday.

11. If that is the way his contract is written, then what's the big deal.
Blame MSNBC for that, not Joe Scab.

14. He's done stuff via remote in the past when he's been in Florida
Perhaps he actually has real vacation time scheduled right now?

16. Hey, I am not excusing Joe - there is no excuse for his BS
It just surprises me that anyone would try to work long distance out of either Tallahassee or Panama City since they both have abysmal air service.

BTW, I have never once watched Morning Joe - the man makes me want to puke nearly as much as O'Really and the other RWNs.

12. Is that in his contract, too?
If it is, I think it's highly inappropriate, even if he is a Republican!

6. He lives in Pensacola; I used to work w/ his wife's brother
He would babysit for them all the time, so I doubt he's missing work to be with the family. Not only that but a lot of times they actually film him in Pensacola, not the MSN studios. Dude is a loser.

13. He was pretty tight-lipped about things..
I asked about the dead intern, etc and he said (of course) there was not anything to it. I'm pretty sure his sister is the one he was cheating on his ex-wife with, the one who cost him his House seat.

The way I understand it, is the Pensacola News Journal held the story about the affair and illegitimate kid in exchange for him resigning his seat. Wonderful journalism. To this day,a lot of people actually believe he quit right after winning re-election to spend time with the family, unaware of the true scandal that cost him his job.

Very disappointing - I know there is more to the Lori Klausitis story. See the website All Hat No Cattle for the details on her death and the shady coroner who covered up for Joe:

I wouldn't want to see how they do without some safeguards. Anyway, if I want 24/7 republican drivel, I'll turn on the radio.

Him and Mika whatever her name is take a day off so they could see what news they could get on Paris Hilton --
That way they can talk about why they shouldn't talk about Paris Hilton for an hour.
