Earthquake death toll hits 7000 in China - 900 students buried

Awful stuff. High school kids.

Cnn.com has it as its headline, but you can go to any news site, it is headlined everywhere.

Sending hope, light, and energy to those poor people.

4. Every indicator is that these types of events will just keep happening more and more often

The ONLY good thing that could come of any of these tragedies is an awakening of the human race to the fact of the damage we are doing to the earth, and making a serious committment to start taking the environmental health of our planet seriously.

7. I read a couple yrs ago that the reservoir filling behind the new Three Gorges Dam...
contains such a massive volume of water, that the added weight on the earth's plates beneath it could put China at risk of severe tremors and increasing earthquakes. Not sure of the scientific veritability behind such claims, but it does make a bit of sense. Three Gorges is the longest dam in the world and China billed it as "a modern marvel", hoping it becomes a major tourist attraction.
