Hezzelwood Sues Sheriff's Department

BONITA BEACH, Fla. -- A Florida man is suing after he was ticketed on a beach for wearing a Speedo bathing suit.

Bob Hezzelwood said he has been visiting Bonita Beach for years and no one has bothered or complained about his bathing suit.

However, recently, a Lee County sheriff's deputy gave Hezzelwood a ticket for trespass and told him not to return to the beach.

A judge tossed out the case.

However, Hezzelwood said he plans to sue the sheriff's department, saying his civil rights were violated.

As a woman who spent at least 11 summers in the Mediterranean on nude & semi nude beaches I find this sort of illogical behavior to be worth suing over. European men would not be caught dead in the oversized ugly surfer shorts that we have on our beaches. Not everyone should be seen in a Speedo but there is zero wrong with a man who is in good physical shape wearing one.

Sorry, I can not join the I hate a man in a Speedo club - I love men. I am married to one.

near Miami specifically for European tourists, where women are allowed to go topless if they want? I remember seeing a story about this. Americans were crowded around the beach, gawking like two-year-olds.
