Are certain fundamental churches pushing, "Obama is the anti-Christ"?

I was waiting in line Saturday morning at our post office, where a sole employee was manning a single window. The older, white woman behind me started a conversation about the lack of service and the increasing prices of the Post Office. I stated that everything is going up in price with the exception of wages. She then said, "We'll be soooo much worse off if that Obama fella gets elected." So, I asked, "Why's that?" Her response caused me to go red in the face and I'm not an active Obama supporter. Well, he's the anti-Christ!"
"Why would you say that?" I asked.
"He's Muslim."
"No, he's not! That's been rebutted. And everybody's been talking about his Christian preacher, Rev. Wright."
"Neither one of them are Christian. You can't be Christian and not salute the flag and damn America."

Not wanting to say what I was really thinking, I told her that I planned to get out of the USA as soon as possible. I should of asked her where the rule book on being an American Christian came from, but I would suspect that this is being spread throughout the Southern Baptist Churches here in the South. My town is something like 45% SBC.

My brother-in-law's girlfriend is originally from the south. They went down there recently (last month) and her brother was spouting the "Obama is the anti-Christ" stuff real hard, according to my BiL.

Grain of salt, however: this guy, her brother, is a total freak and scared the shit out of my wife's family a couple of Christmases ago with his crazy fundie junk. I mean, he's much worse than your run of the mill fundie.

11. I am in the south and I often

hear talk that Obama is a muslim, more than the 'anti-christ' nonsense.
When I point out he is a Christian the answer is 'all the rest of his family in Africa are radical Muslims' I reply he was not raised with his family in Africa, their response is 'born a Muslim always a Muslim'.

I expect this has been mandated from the leadership of the SBC, which will do and say anything to help the Repiglickins win elections.
