Please, I bought a small crate once and swore never to do it again. I had to eat all of them in 2 days before they started going bad. Never again now! What a price jump!

but they're sold in a crate to jack up the price. I've had the same experience. It's like buying produce at Costco for two or three people. It's bound to go bad before you can eat it, and that's a real waste.

With our schedules, I prefer the option of deciding dinner in the afternoon or just eating out (or getting to go). It has always irritated me to buy 4-5 days worth of groceries just to have stuff go bad.
Maybe it's just me, but it seems as if food spoils quicker than it used to.

It's better'n buying a week's worth of food and then finding out the hub is having last minute dinner meetings or going out of town. The real thing that got me doing this was when we had that nasty ice storm in '04 (?)--I had a freezer/fridge full of food for the holidays, and we had no power for three days. EVERYTHING went in the garbage. Our insurance covered most less a deductible, but I was sick over it. Whatta waste! Never again.
