Obama and Hagel?,Nunn? is that OK with you?
Tweety was discussing this today , and he and Howard Fineman had these for the top two, over some real Democrats. Might as well go with Lieberman. Sure as hell, isn't OK with me.

6. General Electric makes the pick...
Surprised they don't push Brian Williams or Tim Russert for the gig!

They may as well, really....

19. But...
...it's always been that way. The banks picked Thomas Jefferson back in the day.

It's not the United States of northern Europe. It's the United States of America.

9. Honestly, this thing about Obama being the media darling is stupid

13. The media need this thing to go until now.
They pushed Hillary as hard as they wanted and then switched to Obama. Had Hillary had this sewn up in February or early March, then who the hell would be wasting their time watching Matthews, Russert, Blitzer, et al in May? NOBODY. This is all for ratings and advertising dollars for the corporate overlords.

choses someone that none of the pundits have punditized about.

4. If I watched Tweety, or gave a shit what he said, I might be concerned.
However I don't watch Tweety and I couldn't care less what he says.

He's not a Democrat. He's a twit.

5. The rap was that BHO needs a VP with defense credentials
Edited on Mon May-12-08 10:08 PM by panader0
OK. There's Webb too. Maybe> Any suggestions??
On edit, heaven forbid, that the VP has to take the reins, we want someone who will carry the flag for BHO. A person with the same vision.

8. I think he needs someone with foreign policy credentials, not defense
Defense is the neocon way of dealing with the world.

Obama's message of change should signify a break with our militarism, and for that reason having a solid foreign policy expert as VP would then be the better choice.

12. Nunn was *relentlessly* homophobic during the Clinton years.
Not exactly the right signal to be sending right about now.

He's also pro-war... far as I know.

I'd push fo Webb if I were advising Obama.

28. That "pander to the sickos" strategy didn't work well for Gore. Clark is by far
then best option. Not seen as particularly partisan, yet progressive on every issue, as far as that goes within the national political spectrum, and appealing to those who want to be reassured that someone who knows how to run the military effectively is on board.

29. JIM WEBB IS DA MAN...SENATOR WEBB IS DA CHOICE FOR VP!!
Nono..it should be Jim Webb. He is a pit bull, perfect to deal with the Republicans, and what you need in a Vice President. He is from a red state in the south. He appeals to the values voters, and has credibility on national defense.

Wesley Clark has poor political instincts. He is prone to gaffes, and not much of a politician.

Jim Webb!
