1. I don't get this, but I've been working all night
Is this comment sarcasm about Mississippi being 50th in education or something, or did they win a prize for voting for Obama, or getting the Miss Universe Paegant?

Please educate me!

2. Travis Childers, (D) 1st Dist., Mississippi just
elected to Congress in special election against Republican that was appointed.

Childers Wins MS Congressional District 1 Special Election

Democrat Travis Childers defeated Republican Greg Davis in Tuesday's special election for the state's First Congressional District.

The North Mississippi district had been represented by Republican Roger Wicker who was appointed to fill Senator Trent Lott's seat when he resigned in December of last year.

Childers and Davis will also face each other in November to fill the full two year congressional term in that district.

We just picked up another Republican seat. In Mississippi.

How great is that?

Well, it's because Trent Fucking Lott dropped out.

Outstanding news.

10. A timeline
1. Trent Lott resigns his Senate seat.

2. Republican Roger Wicker was appointed to fill Senator Trent Lott's seat when he resigned in December of last year.

3. This resulted in a special election to fill Roger Wicker's Congressional seat.

4. Democrat Travis Childers defeated Republican Greg Davis in Tuesday's special election for the state's First Congressional District.

It's all there in the original post.

Jeez.
