MS-01, this is really huge! Can you smell the blood in the water?

Bush won that district by 25 points. In the pre Howard Dean days the DC Dems probably wouldnt have even supported a candidate.

The Repubs were forced to tap into their scarce resources and pump almost $2 million into a race in one of the bloodest red congressional districts in the country.

And the Dem won it by 8 points!

Add to that the money the Pubs spent losing a fire red district LA-06 and losing Hasterts seat in IL.

Repub congress members all over DC must be shitting bricks right now.

I think we are at a tipping point, if we work hard and keep up the momentum.. November could be delicious... can you smell the blood in the water?!?

I hope we can do the same in Doolittle's district CA-4. It is a seemingly permanent red district and we have a great candidate trying to turn the tide, Charlie Brown. I think he will make it this time. Thanks for posting, it gives me HOPE, and congratulations to your district.

2. Paul Begala can kiss Mississippi Democratic ass and PICK HIS NOSE!!
Y'all remember the remarks he made back on May 11, 2006, when Howard Dean revealed his "50-State Strategy" to include rebuilding the Democratic Party in states long neglected, like Mississippi, Nebraska, and Utah??

BLITZER: Very quickly, is Howard Dean in trouble?

BEGALA: No. I think Candy's report was spot on.

He -- yes, he's in trouble, in that campaign managers, candidates, are really angry with him. He has raised $74 million and spent $64 million. He says it's a long-term strategy. But what he has spent it on, apparently, is just hiring a bunch of staff people to wander around Utah and Mississippi and pick their nose. That's not how you build a party. You win elections. That's how you build a party.

It's gonna be great to be a Democrat this year!

As for the GOopers, well:

6. Yeah, I know, "Hoover" has a double meaning here. . .
the vacuum cleaner and poor ol' Herbert, who got his ass kicked out office by FDR in 1932.

3. Well, well, well
Another Red district turns Blue, and this one in Mississippi. I wonder what Haley Barbour and Trent Lott are drinking thinking tonight?
