GOP tells their candidates that they are on their own this election?
That they need to separate themselves from the Republican "brand" and run as agents of "change" if they are to survive? I heard this mentioned by some Republican on a TV talkshow and it shows the desperation that is within the Republican Party. It couldn't happen to a nicer bunch. After last night's special election in MS, they are probably more nervous than ever. No one is safe. Every man and woman for themselves. Come to think of it, it is the Republican philosophy.

1. A loss will protect the (GOP) party's legacy more than a win

they're banking on the bottom falling out on the Bush economy, and blaming the Dems for it.

2. Count on it!

They're already benchmarking this strategy with their
recent claims that the huge run-up in gas prices only
occurred since ("because") the Democrats won the
Congress.

4. And they're hoping...
that the tax refund checks will hold the economy together until after the November elections. They know the crap is about to hit the fan.

5. We're about to find out how much of our economy...
depends on independent truckers.

3. They'll try, but everyone already knows it's all Bush's fault.
Even the Freepers are saying that now.
