Thank you Rep. Wasserman Schultz! "No drilling our way
out of this energy crisis! We must find an alternative."

I agree. If there was enough oil on the continental shelves, they would've already drilled them. But now that world oil production is at a 2% year-over-year decline and new discoveries are being out-pace by 3 barrels used for every 1 barrel discovered, they want to go for what is there and in the process ruin our coastlines east and west and ruin a prisine sub-arctic enviroment in the Alaskan wilderness - all in the name of keeping the engines running just a wee bit longer.

15. I'm not totally with you on that.

She has said that she cannot support three Democratic candidates here in S. Florida who are running for Congress because of her close friendship with the three incumbent Republicans:

Joe Garcia (D) vs. Lincoln Diaz-Balart (R)
Raul Martinez (D) vs. Mario Diaz-Balart (R)
Annette Taddeo (D) vs. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R)

She is co-chair of the DCCC red-to-blue committee, a position that she ought to resign if she can't support the blue candidates.

She supported the "impeachment-off-the-table" position when she was on our local progressive talk radio. ETA: and I think she did the same on the Ed Schultz radio show (national audience).

Personally I don't think she is the very best -- I think we could do better.

16. the rehabilitation of Debbie begins.
I guess Debbie is trying to swim back to shore from that increasingly lonely
island called the Clinton campaign.

Now do the right thing Debbie and get behind your fellow Democrats running in Fla.

2. Kudos to Rep. Schultz
She is so right. We must find an alternative or we will be hostages to big oil forever.

6. Well said.
So true too. Until we make ourselves find another alternative, it's going to be a downward spiral until there is no oil left, then we will absolutely have to find alternatives. Why suffer? Let's find the alternatives now.

18. Facing the anti-Semitism she faced in her run for Congress showed great strength.
Even at her swearing in, the GOP made a stink about her not wanting to use Denny Hastert's bible, wanting to be sworn in with a Tanakh instead.

19. Everyone on that committee did an outstanding job!
BTW, I just noticed the date: May 10, 2007.

Can you believe it's been an entire year since Speedy's testimony?
