The GOP IS TERRIFIED RIGHT NOW
Edited on Wed May-14-08 07:41 PM by berni_mccoy
They see the Democratic candidates' mastery of the politics and election strategies in the primary as an extension of Dean's 50-state strategy. In almost every state, Democratic voters have come out in forces that dwarf the Republican voters.

The Republicans have gotten cocky. They have gotten lazy. They have underestimated us.

The Republicans have tried to divide Americans with flag-pins and freedom-fries and by demonizing the goodness of liberals and the Democratic party.

And now America has woken up to the stench of their corruption. Americans are dying from the Republican leadership that lied us into an illegal war. Americans are starving, losing their jobs and houses and their ability to earn a living. But Americans have finally seen what has been done to them.

And America is angry. And America is bitter. And America has sent a clear message to the Republicans: We Don't Want You Anymore.

They have tried to leverage racially divisive tactics on down-ticket candidates in special elections, and they've lost every single time.

We are taking back old Democratic strongholds with a new kind of change. We are overtaking Republican strong-holds that have never gone Democratic.

The GOP Is Terrified right now. Be prepared for the ugliness that a trapped and desperate animal can unleash. The worst is yet to come from them. But with it, the best that has yet to be seen from America will be revealed.

America will become united behind one united Democratic Party. And we will change America for the better. We will change America for the sake of everyone.

1. Dean's 50 state strategy was meant to suffer a loss in the beginning
We were not suppose to do so well in 2006. However now the real dividends of that tactic will begin to pay off. Much to the republicans despair.

37. My thoughts exactly. I don't like them being scared. I want them complacent.

I just think we're dealing with some people here who will stop at nothing - and I do mean *absolutely nothing* - to turn the perceived tide of public opinion back in their favor.

Cocky Emanuel shows up to gloat
By Jackie Kucinich

It's gotten so bad for House Republicans that Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-Ill.) is giving them advice on their tarnished brand.

During a meeting of the House Republican “theme team” last week, Emanuel stopped by briefly to address the group.

The unusual appearance of the partisan Democrat was triggered when Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.) passed out fliers to GOP members on the House floor about the meeting.

“He said, ‘I’m going to come to this thing,’ ” Kingston said, noting that he and Emanuel have a good rapport. “And he showed up.”

Kingston said the Illinois Democrat was well-received by the group and even offered some advice: that President Bush and the GOP’s lack of an agenda would continue to haunt the party in November.

“Rahm was merely showing conservatives some compassion,” said Nick Papas, a spokesman for the Democratic Caucus chairman and the former head of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

28. Sounds Pretty Balzy To Me...
These morons are so cluless I could see Rahm going in there to goad 'em. Sounds like he told 'em what the polls already have...not that they'll listen to him anymore than get in touch with what the real voters out there are concerned about.

Kingston's such a twit...I could easily see Emanuel choking his chain. Sure beats all the "free advice" we get from the telepundits on the corporate media.

18. I can smell the fear. Hannity and OxyPig are crapping themselves
Today both sounded the warning bell - shape up, you repug brain-dead wackos, and move to the far freakin' right, or face DISASTER this November.

Sweet - they still think they lost places like Mississipi because the candidates weren't conservative enough. Let them think just that - they'll continue to lose every time with that mindset.

26. I think the Republican Party after this will be completely destroyed
after all the corruption and the harm it has done to Americans

Bush will remembered for its destruction just like Ken Lay walking out of Enron with his millions

bush will be in paraguay sipping drinks with umbrellas

so he thinks

the marcos in the Philipines thought the same thing

30. i don't want to start the whole "slap a Democrat" thing
but we need to be careful. Many here don't remember that this was just what we all thought in '92.

republicans have long memories, deep pockets, and unlimited nastiness. We have to do more than win in November. We have to be united, and we have to put two dozen more liberals in congress each cycle for the next 8 years. Winning the election will only be the beginning. If we can't get elected this time, along with a strong liberal bent to the congress, we may as well fold our tents.

31. And one thing they are more afraid of than anything else is...
unification. They thrive on division. If they cannot divide the country into black and white, liberal and conservative, rich and poor, etc, then they are doomed. The absolute worst message for the Republican Party is when someone says we need to come together. Naw! We can't have none of that shit!

38. How the new CA anti-gay initiative can help
The reich-wingers have submitted petitions to put a new anti-gay amendment on the ballot -- one that would negate today's ruling.

All we can hope is to energize lots and lots of people to vote against hate legislation. If we can get more progressives to the polls -- and count on dispirited Republicans staying home -- we could not only beat down the anti-gay proposition, but clean the clocks of Republicans up and down California.
