I've looked at it a couple of times now; I'm not mixed up.

1. I agree that your broker was out of line
He should have taken better care to assess your financial situation before dumping your money into a shit-fund that paid him a big commission.

Read the prospectus; if he didn't give you one, then it should be available online through the fund company itself. If the broker has acted unlawfully, then it might be worth getting in touch with the SEC.

Good luck!

contention on shared sequence?
It is probably a load related contention on a shared sequence number.

You know how sometimes posts have just "#" as their number? probably something similar.

6. Without "globally unique ids" GUIDS or a shared sequence table across clustered databases...
..it's actually a pretty common DB problem. My guess is that the highly modified dcforum software probably has a small opportunity for this duplicate id problem, that gets larger under heavy load.

Not a programmer, but I used to be a technical writer. I like engineers.

10. Oh, I may get a little carried away with the details, but I'm all about clarity, really . . .
there just happen to be an awful lot of details.

I taught highschool too and found I had to be prepared for EVERYTHING.

Engineers also seem to be funny; maybe that comes from knowing how things work, or maybe they're just glad someone else is interested.
