The only thing worse than a racist POS..
is a racist POS who pretends not to be one..

MARIETTA, Ga. -- The publisher of the popular children book's series "Curious George" is considering legal action against a Georgia bar owner for selling T-shirts that seem to portray Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama as the inquisitive monkey.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt is upset with Mike Norman, owner of a Marietta, Ga., bar, for selling the shirts that show Curious George peeling a banana with "Obama in '08" printed beneath the image.

"Houghton Mifflin Harcourt did not nor would we ever authorize or approve this use of the Curious George character, which we find offensive and utterly out of keeping with the values Curious George represents," said Richard Blake, the company's spokesman. "We are monitoring the situation and weighing all of our options."

1. he's a redneck asshole who runs a hick bar in Marietta
it's a freaking dump and unfortunately continues to get tons of free publicity because of this story. Let it, and him, return to die in oblivion.

6. Well, Disney sued (and won against) a day-care facility which was using
unauthorized images of Disney characters, with the idea that "people might get the wrong impression that they were affiliated with Disney" - meaning that Disney thought people were so stupid that they would mistake a day-care facility for Disney's theme park ...

Let me guess ... the courts which would handle this are loaded with RW fanatics who think that there aren't enough ten-ton memorials to the Ten Commandments on public property which refuses Wiccan (and environmentally friendly) ceremonies?

my local high school just put on a production of "High School Musical", and the rights specifically stated NO VIDEOS of the production.

9. no ... and
anybody who put forth anything of the like was equated to be a terrorist ...

Notice, I haven't heard any flak from the creator of Curious George about copyright infringement when referring to Current resident George as "Incurious George" ... maybe he is along our lines ... of course, we hadn't actually sold T-shirts with the copyrighted image on them, making a buck off the intellectual property ...

WHEN will he reject and denounce this?

Does he implicitly condone this?
