Why Donating to DU is Good.
Because when you do, you piss off a frothing right-wing mouthbreather, a DLC member or an inside-the-beltway type who spends many hours a day trying to minimize and ignore the progressive wing of the Democratic Party. For many of them, DU is The Thing That They Don't Understand(Because it does not serve cocktail weenies) and Won't Go Away. Trust me when I tell you: DU really disturbs inside-the-beltway types. It is loud, messy, doesn't take directions and sometimes leaves puddles and piles on the carpet. Just like a healthy democracy should. The smart ones Get It, however. Trouble is that Smart Ones are usually at a premium, inside the beltway.

Thus, donating serves a wonderful purpose that goes well beyond just buying Dog Kibble for Romeo and Geek Kibble for elad. Who can put a price on fun like that?

2. I'd like to offer my opinion
That not donating due to things posted by random posters is really nuts. This site is a service to the Democratic Party, and to the voters. Thinking people having open discourse is not likely to be a costant love fest. In fact it probably should not be.
I started out and remain a backer of Dennis Kucinich who will in fact vote for the Democratic nominee. If I did not reject many posters backing either of the two remaining, I would not be able to vote for the nominee. The posters are not the candidates, and in many cases, let us thank the universe for that. This site is not the posters nor the candidates and I certainly thank those who make DU happen for that.
