Do you feel it, DU?
The US is starting to get on the right track. We've still got a long way to go, but this is a great start, IMO.

Obama is now the presumptive Dem nominee.
The Dems are going to get even more seats in the house and the senate.
The repukes are being marginalized more and more with each passing day.

and now...

California has legalized gay marriage!

The hell we've endured is almost over...

We still have a war to stop. That's not to mention the rest of the mopping up that needs done from the damage the repukes have caused over the years.

The sun is coming out.

5. That I am...
Clinton supporter, but reality is that Obama will get the Dem nomination. Proud to support him.

Feeling more hope now than I've felt in years.

9. sorry -- now is NOT the time to start singing kumbaya
And yes, to some I may be pissing in your cornflakes. But we've NOT even gotten into the GE yet, and the overturning of one evil law in one state does NOT constitute a *new dawn*. The other states don't count? They just passed a law in my state allowing people to carry concealed weapons -- to ME, that kind of wipes out any cheering about a law in California.

I'd be more inclined to sing kumbaya if there was the slightest hope that SOMETHING will get done by the Dems IN CONGRESS NOW about the War, the economy, the gas prices - SOON. Excuse me if I fail to cheer about WAITING, because I also waited for the 2006 elections -- and got SQUAT for my patience.

Proclaiming a *victory* ahead is like sitting in the lower decks of the titanic, with a bailing bucket, cheering on the rest of the poor sods who cannot get a seat in the lifeboats.

14. Not proclaiming victory....
Just feeling a little better about what's going on in the country. We've got a long way to go and a lot of crap needs undone. It just feels slightly better than it did a few days ago.

I'm celebrating the progressions even though they're minor.

12. Beware the blow back??
In the short run we are okay.

But I am pragmatic, I do not believe what the CA court did today is going to be as large a plus nation wide as you may.

Those same voters that refused to vote for Obama (Ie white working class) are not going to think this decision is a wise one.

Barack is going to have no choice but to take a stand on it one way or another, this decision will not allow him any wiggle room.

I am reminded of what Adm Yamamoto told the Imperial Navy Staff when orderd to draw up war plans agains the US. "I will run wild for six months to a year, after that I can guarantee nothing"

I may be the lone voice in the wilderness, but if we do not think our plans/legislation through in a thoughtful manner as Barack has promised we risk political blowback. And it could be in some respects akin to what happened to Yamamoto after he ran wild for six months, remember he miscalculated at Midway.

Granted it will take the GOP 3 - 5 years at the very earliest to reconstruct and that IMHO is somewaht optimistic, my guess is more like 8 - 10.

In that period of time we can accomplish alot, but not if we choose to emulate how the GOP acted in the last 8 years. We were outraged at that treatment, how smart would replicating it be??

We must shy away from our desire to PAY BACK in the short run it may make us feel good, in the long run it is dumb politics.

Than God I believe that Barack gets this overall.

Still do not underestimate that there is a large majority of the public that while they will vote for us this time due to their total disallusionment with the GOP at the present, a large number of those voted for the GOP in 2000, and 2004. They are voting to give us a chance, not because they love us. We must do well to remember this and govern accordingly, much can get done, but let us temper what we do and propose with wisdom.

Do this and we govern for a long time, fall into the time honored stereo type of a haughty know it all liberal and our tenure will be short indeed.

Some may not like to hear what I say or may decide to insult me by calling me a FREEPER. That is your decision to make.

Still I am a student of history and I thing Barack has the right instincts, this nation needs healing, and it will not get it if we act snooty.

17. blowback?
no, we invite those shits out to demand more and more, and with a quick stroke, show them to be racist, sexist, homophobes that have pushed agendas so bad that the whole world suffers.

22. No, not yet. I can't "feel it" until November. We have been teased by false hope before.
I certainly hope you are correct. But you asked if we "felt it" yet?

Sorry, but for myself the answer is an emphatic no.
