George Bush keeps going to the Hitler comparisons because they have worked so well for him in the past. Remember how Bush's comparisons of Saddam Hussein to Hitler were used to justify the invasion of Iraq to prevent Iraq from developing WMDs:

The one thing that does worry me is that by tabbing Iran's President as the HOTD, does that mean that an invasion of Iran is imminent.
The HOTD designation is a pretty powerful arrow in Bush's quiver, because it even causes Democrats to shake at their knees and vote to authorize wars. Once the HOTD tag is used, questions stop being asked, the Scooter Libby types get free reign to break laws as they see fit, and our Nation gets to invade countries to capture their natural resources.
If anything, shouldn't the HOTD tag be used on the leaders of Myramar who are essentially engaging in the genocide of their own people by denying relief to the thousands of victims of the recent cyclone. However, there is no oil, so Bush has to be judicious in his use of the HOTD tag. Its like a Get Out of Jail card.
