U.S. House sets Iraq troop pullout goal for end-2009
Thu May 15, 2008 4:06pm EDT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. House of Representatives defied President George W. Bush by passing legislation on Thursday that would set the end of 2009 as the goal for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq.

By a vote of 227-196, the Democrat-controlled House approved the measure that would start the pullout of U.S. combat troops from Iraq within 30 days of enactment.

The legislation, likely to be blocked by Republicans in the Senate, has drawn a veto threat from the White House.

2. True, but
The non-binding resolutions used to go in the other direction -- toward okaying wars.

4. I know, and edited my OP while you were typing, but it's a start.
I want to see how the votes (Ds vs. Rs) went. The rethugs don't have much juice left for anything.

You mean they can change their minds after the election (selection I mean)? Merry Xmas soldiers.

That carrot they hold in front of us is getting pretty moldy. Four years plus of promises and lies.

10. And a lie.
I was reading in a pamphlet by the ACLU regarding our rights and that you can go to jail for lying to the government. What about when they lie to us? Aren't they citizens lying to the government and the people they are to represent?
