Good people of DU. Go vote in the MSNBC poll about the Supreme Court ruling today in California!
The vote is close and I know my fellow DUers believe in civil rights--because this is what this issue is about--equal treatment under the law.

What do you think about the court decision in California that allows same-sex couples to marry?

* 26414 responses

It's about time. Gay and lesbian couples should be allowed to establish long-term relationships and have equal treatment under law.

Don't think so. I'm with the measure under way in California to restrict marriage to members of the opposite sex.

Thanks, but I'll pass. Not too sure on this one.

I don't think it is reflective of the general population. I will head off to the LA Times poll. Thanks for making me feel a bit better!!

He's sitting there in the MSNBC studio, furiously clicking his mouse, convinced that civilization itself will end if the sodomites are allowed to get married. :scared:

Aw, poor deluded homophobic Pat :(

As a gay boy I am so excited about this ruling! My friends are texting me. Including one couple that has been together for 5 years! If they'd ever bring the law to NC so we could get married here.... SOMEDAY!

Oh wow this is such a great moment. I fighting back tears. I just found out. I had written it off as even a POSSIBLE outcome. I didn't even think about it or check into it because I didn't think it was possible.
