Those that shall not be named
Here at DU, we now have a long list (and getting longer!) of liberal websites we can access. When I first came online, there were few, and far between. I used to pretty much not have any political discussion online as a result, though I kept busy with entertainment boards and such, and did a lot of website work myself.

But the fact is, more places have blossomed over the years, and I can always find like-minded people here, not only to talk with, but also to seek support from. I come to DU first before I go anywhere else.

But I'm curious: how many check out the right-wing sites at all? No, not Freeperland, but places like Drudge, Newsmax, Townhall, Real Clear Politics, or other such sites?

I remember once there was a rival website to one of my own entertainment sites, and I used to visit just to see what they were talking about. My feeling was that it was good to know what the "enemy" was talking about. Nowadays, I don't even feel the slightest inclination to go to a right-winged site at all, because the vitriol and negativity is just adding to my stress level.

But I'm sure there are stronger souls here who might have more of a philosophical viewpoint of some of the places out there that still find some loyalties to the current regime, and to the right-wing in general. And they have "boldly gone where no liberal has gone before"--or at least fewer of us than might consider it!

No reasons need to be given, but I'd like to read what some people have as impressions of these scary sites. It will be interesting to read what others have thought.

1. I go to Drudge occasionally...
I'll admit it. I like to see their "top" story, just to see what they think is the big news. and I check Real Clear Politics for their polls; they seem to have them all in one place. that's about it.

3. Given that all I can get on the radio around here is Hannity and Limpy

I listen to them for a few (@15) minutes each day. That seems to satisfy my daily allotment of lies to be consumed. Occasionally I will go to Red States, but there is little difference between their drivel and that on the radio.
edit to add that there are also a long line of Rushie wannabes on all the local stations.

4. I used to and it didn't take long for it to get very boring...
Bricks were more engaging than discussions with these type of people.

At least with DU, even as crazy as this place gets sometimes, there are far more intelligent people that are way more interesting, intelligent and enjoyable.

5. RealClearPolitics is one of the tabs I always keep open.
I read RealClearSports and RealClearMarkets as well fairly frequently as well.

These guys comb the net and find some real interesting articles, not to mention their polling aggregates are invaluable to political junkies.

6. I do go there occasionally,
to see what the talking points are liable to be.

I also keep a watch on the darker Christian sites, just to keep an eye on what they're up to. It seems that some of that contagion is heading here, and I find it rather scary.
