Ed Gillespie says WH surprised by reaction to Bush's comments...
Edited on Fri May-16-08 11:36 AM by kentuck
in front of the Israeli Knesset. I'll bet they were!

Why call them on it now? They have been doing this type of crap for 8 years and getting away with it. Why would anyone object now? So now, that they are being called on it, they are saying they weren't even talking about Obama ?? And what person in America would believe that?? They made a political gamble and it has backfired in their faces. And John McCain is standing there like the cartoon character, Wily E. Coyote, after the firecracker has blown up in his hand, and saying that he agrees with everything the President said?

(edited to correct cartoon character)

5. I wish I were Chuck Jones.
But I'm not. So here's a bad Wile E. Coyote reference anyway.

3. Bush is an oaf.
He thinks he can smirk his way through anything and will be believed. I couldn't believe the looks he got on his face when he was doing the appeasement bit. What an embarrassment for the USA.......again.

8. I do think they're surprised. The GOP seems to be comprised of

deeply ignorant people. Did you see that video yesterday where Chris Matthews asked some right-wing radio guy who was blathering about Neville Chamberlain to explain what Chamberlain did wrong, and he didn't know? The WH Press Secretary openly admitted to not knowing what the Cuban Missile Crisis was.

I think they were honestly surprised at the reaction Bush got, because they didn't even realize that it's taboo. They got to where they are largely because of their penchant for constantly being on the attack. Of course they're surprised when people boo them for going to far; they didn't think there was any such thing.
