Why George Bush is against the GI Bill
He says giving educational benefits would encourage soldiers to not re-enlist and go to school rather than making the military a career.

I guess you stay in until you die or are so badly disabled you can't be recycled back into combat.

The real reason is that a large number of educated and hardened former veterans are a real competition to the bottle-fed and whiny spawn of the elite who were too good to go into the military.

If you were an employer and you had to chose between some sure to complain about everything frat boy or a veteran who says "yes sir" and goes and gets the job done; Who would you pick?

3. So, George, how did we manage to maintain a career cadre
Edited on Fri May-16-08 06:25 PM by sarge43
all during the era of the original GI bill? And during times when civilian employment opportunities were a hellva lot better than they are now. And a much better deal with the bill, too.

Could it be that the first termers are bailing because they're getting screwed in every orifice by your maladminstration?

7. Thank you for thinking it was an article
but except for the part about what Junior said, it all came out of my pointy little head.
