Tweety: Bush Admin "Used Inflammatory Words For No Other Reason Then To Shut Their Critics Up"
Tweety Bird" Matthews, just called out the President, the administration, the right-wing windbags, AND THE MEDIA ITSELF. Appearing on Countdown With Keith Olbermann, with Rachel Maddow sitting in, Matthews just raked everyone who has ever used any of the pathetic neocon buzzwords, over the coals. He actually said, out loud, that since the Bush administration has been in power, they have used these inflammatory words for no other reason that to shut their critics up, so they would be able to pursue their policies unmolested. I just hope Matthews has a job to go back to on Monday...

1. He came really close calling bush a dictator. He didn't need to say it, I
think we could read between the lines.

20. Yeppers - Tweety the weathervane
No more, no less.

It's kind of like what somebody said about Gingrich some years back - that if Trotskyism were suddenly to come into vogue in the US, he'd be out front in a red shirt with a hammer and sickle on the front pretty much before anybody else.

Same for Matthews, except he'd be sitting on the opposite side of the interview table from ol' Newt.

I wouldn't trust Matthews any further than I could hurl Vermont.

3. Tweety was really pissed yesterday
That said, it must be really hard watching KO get all the kudos for his Special Comments.
KO has jumped off the wagon...for now. Time will tell if he's really stopped playing games for the Rethugs.

4. yes, indeed, ol' Tweety Bird has seen the light
he may just get the unlikeliest of Algae Awards for that - both his confrontation of the talkradio jerk on his own show, and then his elaboration of it on Countdown.

And boy, has Rachel settled right in to that seat! She was just a wee bit nervous her first Friday, but now she's smooth as silk.

5. I was glad to hear him say that he's not comfortable with the
"homeland security" catchphrase, and I would have to agree with that. I hate that phrase. "Homeland security" sounds VERY Fourth Reich to me, and I just hate it.

And then I woke to the reality of 2006

i guess interrupting loudly and not yielding the floor is the proper way to silence your critics?

15. I still won't watch him
after the fawning over Bush in a flight suit episode but ... HOOray Rachel! She was wonderful!

There's a whole lot of yuckiness to make up for with Chris Matthews if he ever wants me to watch him again.

16. Tweety goes with the wind. He knows how this admin plays the game.
He is/was their instrument. By watching him you can tell who has the upper hand; dems or reps. There has to be something behind the scene that we don't know that caused him playing cute for dems.

17. No, Tweety is just an opportunist, plain and simple
There is no something or someone causing him to do anything. This is typical Tweety behvior.

I think Tweety is very disillusioned with the Bush admin -- I wonder what the tipping point was for him?

22. Rats! I was watching, but my autistic kid wanted some Harry Potter.
I didn't see that part, even though I was enjoying the heck out of RM's hosting of the show.

Nevermind. It is on again at 1am and I can record it.
