Huckabee's "Joke": Can anyone make the same "joke" about the pResident?
Edited on Sat May-17-08 03:47 PM by KrazyKat
Not without landing in the slammer, they can't. And rightly so -- you just don't do this. It's like "joking" about putting a bomb on a plane -- another stunt that would result in arrest. It's simply not done -- to the extent that I'm feeling apprehensive even writing this post.

For Huckabee to call his own remarks "offensive" misses the point entirely. Yes, his words are offensive, but they're also incendiary and sadly, inspirational to any lunatics who might fixate on death-dealing behaviors.

I guarantee you that if anyone -- anyone -- called their local FBI office and said they were going to point a gun at _________, their door would be kicked down in about 10 minutes. And, in such a circumstance, would passing it off as a joke work? Would saying, "Sorry if you found my remarks offensive" be adequate? Not bloody likely.

Huckabee, and by association, the entire Republican Party, is way, way out of bounds on this one. :grr:

True.

And if they don't denounce and renounce his comments, we can safely assume they support his "joke".
