..... Last year, my company's health care plan underwent a rather dramatic change, once that was of course chatted up as a vast improvement by the company's HR director. Our health care provider, which shall remain nameless (except that its name starts and ends with A, with three letters in between) had every employee go for a health check last year, for the first time. In fact, they set up a little mini-clinic right in the lunchroom. Well, the health check up is an annual event now. Several of my colleagues whose health stats (weight, blood pressure, cholesterol etc) had worsened in this year's checkup, were sent letters by A---a. It appears that they must undergo more frequent health checkups now. It appears that A---a is setting them up to drop their coverage, with the blessing of our employer, no doubt. The company tried to promote this health care change as an improvement, noting that the $5 copay on prescriptions had been eliminated. But it appears that everyone gets a health-care account balance for the year, and anyone who exceeds it has to open their own wallet. :grr:
War is a racket, but it has nothing on the American health care system.
