Is your health care coverage going up??
I receive a notice from work that "due to the high increase in premiums there will required changes in my plan".. I think this is a nice way of saying our costs are going up..

Then the notice goes on to say; " The amount of the increase has not yet been determined. the increase anounts will be based on the company's overall level of attendence at these meetings. (WTF?) The minimum increase will be based on 100% employee attendence"

Now has anyone else experienced this kind of crap?? Why should my premiums go up because someone has decided not to attend a meeting.. I find this very odd..

in the context of open enrollment. meeting attendance has nothing to do with it. that sounds strange.

edited to add: now that i think on it, EVERYTHING's going up, except my paycheck.

3. Premiums have gone up every year.
Some years, businesses have seen their insurance costs go up 30-40%. No choice but to pass that on to the employees in terms of higher premiums, copays, etc.

4. Yes, but since my employer pays it I experience it as a stagnant salary
Nearly four years without a raise.

5. yes
My husband's (family coverage) went up almost double for the same exact coverage that we had last year. We are a family of 5 living on a single income. We do qualify for back-up medicaid. My husband also usually gets the flexible spending account, but with gas prices I don't know if we can afford it because the prices for that have also gone up.

9. Cost : way up
Actual benefits: way down.

I am grateful to have health insurance ... it allows me to to find someone to actually treat me if something "bad" befalls me.

They've been going up every year... We took off eye coverage this year, even though my hubby needs glasses, and will re-pick it up next year (maybe), when he would most likely need a new pair of glasses and an eye exam.

13. According to this "person"
McCain has all the answers. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24670562/

I already posted this in the Health care section of DU but it didn't get a lot of traffic. It positively enraged me.
