It´s my turn at Show and Tell ... My visit with Dalai Lama
It´s my turn at Show and Tell, not much show, just a little bit of tell.

I O8) visited with Dalai Lama :hippie: in Nürnberg this morning,

along with 7000 other folks, :grouphug:

HE did most of the talking :loveya:

WE did most of the listening ... :applause:

Have a nice day! :hi:

1. Oh I envy you - any remarks you think we'd enjoy??
I have had the pleasure of hearing tapes of his visits here in California.

My favorite exchange:

Audience member:
So if someone or something very big and evil was attempting to get me, what should I do?

Audience becomes very quiet, waiting for holy man to suggest compassion or forgiveness or appreciation of the challenge.

DL: "Run!"

4. He commented on how he deals with negative feelings
about others.

He said that he uses "analytical meditation". He imagines seeing the person who is stirring up the negative feelings in him, he imagines taking the negative feelings from them, and he imagines giving them love and compassion. The result is, that he sees the person full of love and compassion, and the negative feelings which he had about the person go away.

He made some funny gestures when laughing about people who dance all night long and then have a hard time getting up in the morning, he seems to have a healthy sense of humor.

I think I would like to have him as a neighbor.

14. There is not enough love and compassion in the world
to fill up the hole left if all the evil and negativity in Dick Cheney was taken out.

But otherwise, that may be a useful tool to try and use. Thanks for sharing.

16. The replacement technique sounds easy and probable.
Not hard to visualize doing it - at least in the abstract.

Thank you for Sharon!

I've had the pleasure of seeing him speak twice. Once at Brandeis University and once when he came to Central Park.

but that was a long, long time ago.

Maybe that was the first step to enlightenment?

9. Congratulations :)
It's always a pleasure for mind and soul to listen to the Dalai Lama.

For some weird coincidence I spent the weekend with Sogyal Rinpoche and he invited all participants to the inauguration of the Institute of Compassion and Wisdom of the Lerab Ling monastry by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in the South of France from August 20 to August 24. Maybe something to consider as well in case you want a second lecture...

11. How did you like the chanters?
When He spoke in Atlanta last year I thought the chanters were the best part of the whole experience.Even more so then hearing what the Dalai had to say.
