Take back the dialogue - Its the Corporations stupid!
Gonna keep this short. Please post here if you dont know why. For so very many reasons the Corporations, and the oligarchy behind them are responsible for most of our problems. We all need to work hard to change the dialogue and give credit where credit is due!

For years now they have used their propaganda networks to misinform: Disparaging science on everything from global warming to the harmfulness of certain drugs. They've screwed with our elections to ensure that they get "friendly" (ie Republican) candidates in office. They tell us to invest in companies so they have time to get their money out. They routinely disparage or just don't discuss any solution to any problem that might hurt their profits... if they even mention the problem.

They've used their influence with regulatory agencies to hold their profits over your health: Allowing more poison in your water. Allowing hormones in your milk, plastic in your food, and asbestos in your home. They've come up with a food pyramid that encourages you to eat unhealthy crap for their profits. They've used transfats to give you a heart attack just so they can save a few pennies per twinkie.

They've used their influence with regulatory agencies and politicians to ruin the healthcare system: They do everything they can to take your money and not help you when you get sick. Americans pay more than anyone in the world for medicines that are largely invented and manufactured here!

They've used their influence to push us into war so that they could loot our treasury.

They've used their influence to lower our trade barriers so that they could create a global market for labor. Free trade primarily saves them money on LABOR! That's YOUR JOB! There really is no other reason to do this. What they do is buy the same goods cheaper somewhere else, and sell them back to you at the same or higher price even though you're now earning a lower wage. THAT is the point of "free trade". It's designed to hurt you.

They've suppressed and outright buried new technologies that could help national security, your pocketbook, and the health of the planet.

They've used their influence to keep us from preparing our infrastructure and tranportation to deal with the growing climate crisis, and peak oil.

-----------------

I could go on. But to the point: The Corporations are not "evil" per se. They are short sighted profit machines who would grind you into meat if there was money in it, and it was legal. The problem is not the soul less profit machines, but that those who are supposed to keep them in check are directly controlled by them.

Folks the Republican party and the DLC are damn near directly responsible for every problem we have as a nation. It's time to calmly and directly call them on their shit whenever you get a chance. The first step to healing our country is to completely remove both the Republicans and the corporations who own them from government.

So I suggest that whenever someone brings up one of these issues you say "Follow the Money! Who profits from our misery? Oh you don't believe me? What's your email address? I'll send you over some info. Here's what I'm going to send you, now let me tell you why it's significant."

Just use the google or come on here and ask. Ask now if you like!

We have to fight the information war folks. We're competing with the Big 5 of media for the soul and the future of our country.

1. Ain't that the truth
Corporations are selling us (the American citizens) out for a nickel. The whole point of globalism is to reduce the world to the haves and the serfs. The middle class is in the corporations' crosshairs.

"in our economy corporations are essentially given sociopathic freedoms. Not surprisingly sociopaths often then climb to the top."

The antipatriots are in ascendancy.

3. This post is just my cup of tea. We need an enlightened shareholder base.
Shareholders who are willing to vote their proxies to do what is right as the number one priority, even at the sacrifice of profits and dividends if necessary.

Shareholders who are willing to push the SEC to liberalize the rules for getting independent board members nominated, shareholder resolutions included in proxy solicitations and meetings, and otherwise acquiring control of the corporation.

4. I am more of the opinion that they need to be seperated
From anything having to do with government. Trying to control them from within is still rule by oligarchy... just a slightly broader oligarchy.

6. You have a body of case law which regards corporations as persons.
Persons with a right to petition government for redress of grievances. Because of the assets they have at their disposal, this gives them undue influence on the process.

How about treating it from both the inside and the outside? (To use a medical analogy.) Treat it like the cancer it is!

5. We, the American citizens, have to make up our minds, do we want a jobs economy or a sharks economy
Mega-corporations are the enemy of the American voter and taxpayer. I believe a jobs economy would require keeping corporations small. There are no job generators like small businesses. Personally I would like to bring back the main street economy (been in any small towns lately? Their main streets are just terrible). A simple rule like "no chains" would accomplish that, but is probably too radical. However it might be politically possible to draw the line at allowing corporations to get "too big to fail." Human sized corporations would also be unable to pay their execs those stratospheric salaries. In a democracy the voters must never allow the development of power centers too large to control. Currently, corporations own (or rent) most legislators and the entire media.

Directing the voters' attentions to the betrayals of the Republican party and the DLC is a good place to start, as you say.

7. From "Network"
There are no nations.
There are no peoples.

There are no Russians.
There are no Arabs.

There are no Third Worids.
There is no West.

There is only one holistic system
of systems.

One vast and immane,
interwoven, interacting,
multivariate, multinational
dominion of dollars.

Petrol dollars, electro dollars,
multi dollars.

Reichsmarks, rins, rubles,
pounds and shekels.

It is the international system of currency

which determines the totality
of life on this planet.

That is the natural order of things today.
