Freeps react to Huckabee's VP aspirations with a palpable lack of enthusiasm

There are two people McCain can pick as vp that would absolutely stink, Huckabee or Romney.

After his joke about someone pointing a gun at Obama I think his chances are now ZERO. And if McCain did pick him, it would seal the deal for me and there would be no way I’d vote for this ticket.

McCain go home.

Nice.

If that happens, not only will I not be voting for McCain... I’ll pull myself off the Republican rolls and moving to the Constitution Party.

Ah, well. Too bad for the Republican party, they seem to be hell-bent on suicide right now.

It's a way for McCain to pander to the religious right

you can count my husband and me as part of the religious right who want no part of Huckabee on this ticket... neither do our religious right friends...

The I HATE HUCKABEE cut and paste crowd will be along any minute now...

Ummm.... maybe you didn't hear that utterly stooopid remark he made about gunshots and Obama. Huckabee is a moron.

A bad idea for McCain, the party, and the country. Who gives a hoot what Huckabee wants. He should stand next to Fred Thompson in Irrelevant Land.

1. They won't turnout for McCain
Mark my words, they will not turn out for him. Expect one third of freepers to either vote third party or stay home in November.

2. That sure seems to be the message they are sending to the GOP
This thread links to the RNCC blog....boy, are those true believers (whatever that may mean) pissed at their Party.

3. Their catch phrase is "hold your nose and vote for McCain"...
...I have a fundie / evangelical friend who says this all the time. He plans to vote for McCain in order to remain a "team player" but also calls him the worst candidate in decades. It is also interesting that, as an evangelical, he considers Huckabee to be a complete fake. Putting him on the ticket might make "holding the nose" an impossible task for many.
