An historical tidbit for those watching The Tudors series:

Anne Boleyn was executed on May 19th, 1536. In other words, today is the anniversary of her execution.

just kidding...

the "tudors" is fun entertainment, but it is hardly historically accurate.

i personally find the "hot" henry they show in this series more than acceptable. "rrruuuggghhh!!!"

2. Well, for most of his youth, Henry was decribed as having "golden, god-like beauty".

A little flattery and exaggerating never hurt an ambitious courtier. But there seems to have been some truth to it. Henry was very athletic. He didn't get gross and disgusting until he took a bad fall from his horse and injured his leg. The injury never healed properly. His reduced physical activity, combined with his huge appetites, created the porky monstrosity we think of as Henry VIII.

and i'm totally ok with that.

its a television show. i could continue my life with henry having a hot six-pack until his death.
