2. But the governor of Virginia is a D.
I am still stuck between the other candidate (looks like it's going to be Clinton), Wesley Clarke or John Edwards.

But Jim Webb is a good pick, too.

16. I think the Virginians who voted for Webb
would resent and unseat a governor-appointed Democrat.

4. He's On The Top Of My List
He brings a ton of military cred with him as well as appealing to many "hard working white people". While I generally don't think the Veep brings a lot to the ballot box, I honestly believe that having Webb on the ticket could swing several swing states...MO, NC, OH and WVA.

Also, whomever takes over is gonna need to have a bunch of good people aboard to start in the cleaning up of the many messes this regime has made. Webb could be a real asset in helping not only to withdraw troops and restore international credibility to this country but also help turn around the sad VA system. It also innoculates Obama from Gramps playing his POW card...which he has and will.

Wes Clark would be another decent choice, but I'd rather see him in the Pentagon or as NSA or even Sec. Of State.

6. I hate to lose the Senate seat, though
Maybe Tom Dashle?

Wes Clark for SecDef, Bill Richardson for SecState, Edwards or RFK Jr for AG.

8. Virginia's gov is a D, so the seat should be safe.
If RFK Jr is in a cabinet position, it should be Interior or head the EPA.

I say Kucinich for Energy Sec, that would really scare the shit out of the GOP!

21. Daschle is too cozy with K Street..
I think if we're going to beat McCain up over this, we have to stay pretty clean in this regard.

7. Never ever forget that he was a republican until the 2006 election
He was Ray-gun's sec of the Navy. Also, remember, he barely won that Senate seat. And that was with the Macaca comment. Northern Virginia tends to go blue, but the rest of the state is red as can be.

10. NO OFFICE HOLDING DEMS PLEASE~
We cant afford to loose the few office holding dems we have.
We need each and every one in the office they were elected to!
Better to get retired Dems like Edwards on the ticket. People who bring a lot with them, but also won't affect our tentative majority.

12. No Senator - pick a retired General.
One who can explain exactly why a war with Iran would be our last, worst mistake.

14. NO,,NO...NO....Web must prove himself...
Remember he was a Republican a whole lot longer then he has been a Democrat....While I appreciate he came over to our side He has not yet proven himself to me at least...For years a lot of people on DU wanted McCain...They waned him to come over to our side...they wanted Kerry to ask him to be his VP. I don't know how many time I posted about this not being a good idea at all. but I didn't know what I was talking about...It seemed like everbody loved McCain...Well he has proved himself at least to me he is exactly what I said he was. A bit of advice always take a Republican with not a grain of salt, a cup of salt would be safer..

15. He voted for Bush & Macaca in 2000 & wrote a book called "Women Can't Fight"...
He'd be a total disaster.

I don't get the infatuation with Webb.

20. No. Please. Just NO
A Raygun former Navy Sec'y as Veep for Obama? A Republican who changed his spots? Holy cats! It's a Gore/Lieberman ticket for 2008. Ack!

Look westward a bit. Obama sure has swanned around with Jay Rockefeller a good bit lately. How's that grab ya? (Grabs me like a dose of the clap, for the record). But you can hear the argument: he's chair of the Senate Intel Committee. Lots of foreign policy experience blahblahblah.
