~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Capitol Memorial Day Weekend on C-SPAN
Sunday, May 25: 9 pm ET
Monday, May 26: 3, 8 and 11 pm ET
Join us on C-SPAN over the Memorial Day weekend for a special presentation of our feature documentary The Capitol -- exploring the history, art, and architecture of the U.S. Capitol from its opening in 1800 through today. From its grand public spaces to those places where tourists cannot go, the program captures the beauty and history of this iconic building through a combination of tours and personal stories about the Capitol from members of Congress, historians, and curators.
Granted unique and unprecedented access to its spaces inside, C-SPAN's The Capitol is the only full-length television documentary ever done on this historic structure that is home to the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.
Videotaped in high-definition, this special two-hour version of The Capitol, originally produced for Video On Demand viewing, is airing on the C-SPAN networks for the first time ever.
For more information on this program, as well as other resources on the history of the U.S. Capitol, visit our website www.the-capitol.org.
This week's theme... Viva's favorites :)
