STOP RISING GAS PRICES

The biggest profiteer in this is xxon/mobil oil. reporting industry breaking profits.
the way to stop it is to boycott them.
just fill up in another station! if they have to wholesale their product after a month
their profit margin will drop 90%.
so act now or for ever be a sucker to them.

1. Actually, not driving when you don't HAVE TO is much better.
I was glad to hear the reports that travel over the Memorial Day weekend is DOWN 40% this year. THAT means nobody will make any profit because the useage will be down. I don't ever buy Exxon anyway because they are always more expensive than other stations in my area. I think everybody is shopping price these days.

2. Slactivism at its best here.. Do some real research please
Edited on Sat May-24-08 01:22 PM by SlicerDicer-
on how much market share exxon has and how much oil they actually pump... If it was to be compared in raw production to the entire USA consumption they control 2.5 million barrels of 20.. Worldwide 82 million barrels is pumped a day... PERSPECTIVE PLEASE!!! I am no oil company lover but in times like this people need to put things in perspective.. go read how we have NO control.. Learn what peak oil is and realize that punishing the oil companies that are steering the ship with no rudder. Its awful and its people who need to change and stop driving so much. The largest oil field in the world is Gahwar and we would need to discover one every 3 years to keep up production at the rates we are going right now. It is impossible and unpossible to continue at this incredible rate. Future generations will suffer due to ignorance of people now.

But meh whatever do your boycott it wont do a bit of good. If it was collectively done and done right to boycott and actually worked say good bye to our refining capacity and China/India would just soak up what we are not using anymore. Look at their actual profit margins anyway its only 10 cents on the dollar and consider how much rigs cost to build to go out into the gulf.. How much wells cost to determine oil fields and everything else your talking some billions by the time things are done.. These are small fields too.. I would surprised if there was enough oil out there to offset declines and make a difference the cost of drilling would be a trillion or more... Drilling is not cheap and they place huge gambles..

It all boils down on Energy Returned on Energy Invested, This is what causes oil to go up. Shale, Tar Sands are huge reserves but it costs far to much to use it in terms of environmental damage and out of pocket.
