I have been thinking about GW. I think we should not call him an idiot and here is my reason. I think when you call someone stupid and everyone starts to think that than it is harder to place blame on them. GW is not stupid he understands what his evil ways have brought this country. If we call him stupid it gives him a defense of he does not know any better. Lets not call him an idiot because that lets him get off easy. I am by no means defending him and if anyone needs me to clear up my post I will.

I see your concern and yet I think to myself, its not like he did well in school or passed the bar with ease. I don't think he should be let off the hook for anything he's done, but I refuse to call him smart. We've had smart presidents before and GWB isn't in the club.

Ignorance is never an excuse for committing crimes in our country and I think you need to keep in mind that when people call him stupid, its a relative term. In other words, he's stupid for a president. Personally, I hold a president to a higher standard of intellectual prowess and I would hope we all do.

I'd say GWB is living proof that criminal and stupid are not mutually exclusive.

He's spent his whole life cultivating stupid. Although he was born with normal intelligence, the arrogance of his family is such that developing it was seen as letting down the side. He was to spend his life buying other people's hard work and intelligence. He was to be concerned with the pleasantness of his immediate surroundings and not much beyond them.

He was raised with a bumper sticker philosophy of life: people are poor because they are lazy; some people are born to be superior to all others and those are the people who need to run things; you can always tell who the superior people are by their wealth; democracy is mob rule and to be avoided; WE are the superior people and WE will run things.

This is all that man knows and all he's needed to know. He's always hired other people to worry about the nasty details so he can play.

I've met people like this. They're affable enough on the surface and utterly clueless. They seem like they're sleepwalking through life because there is absolutely no reason for them ever to wake up and notice what kind of world they've made for the rest of us. They do not want to be educated.

So 'scuse me if I keep calling him Stupid. I know his type. I know he is. I also know that doesn't excuse anything he does because he has the capacity to be educated and refuses to do so. He is culpable.
