4. did you happen to hear him
talk about Hillary?

and he talked about how bad JFK, RFK and MLK's assassinations had been for the country?
I was way surprised later when I heard Hillary's comment.

weird.

6. I didn't hear that part...
You know I don't know how to describe it ...

Hillary's campaign has been a tragic train crash. How could she have blown every opportunity given to her...simply she only had to follow the high road...it really was that simple.

5. Wanna re-energize the Repug party and make McCain's problems go away?
Edited on Sun May-25-08 07:50 PM by Liberal_Stalwart71
Put Hillary on the ticket and there you have it. High negatives, Clinton baggage with the Clinton library, pardons (Marc Rich, et al.), dealings with the Saudis, and so much more.

Wanna galvanize the Repugs? Put Hillary anywhere near that ticket and the Dems will lose.

Obama has brought so many Republicans and Indies to the Democratic party. Hillary hampers that trend. And with Paul and Barr now in the game, it hurts McCain.

Even more important, having Hill on the ticket would represent the antithesis of everything Obama stands for. Let's move forward. We can chose a Hillary surrogate like Ted Strickland (best choice). But please, leave Hillary off!

I don't understand why Thom cannot see this.

Wake up, Thom. There are many black people and others (Reps, Indies, and Dems) who WILL NOT vote for a ticket with Hillary on it!

If you're reading this, WAKE UP!!! Hillary Rodham Clinton is NOT progressive. She is The Matriarch of the Democratic Leadership Council who voted for the IWR, AGAINST the Levin-Reed, and for the Kyl-LIEberman Amendment.

Please wake up, Thom! ;)

7. He was getting a lot of calls friday about that...
I will give him credit, he has managed to remain (on air) neutral and fair.
I was kinda surprised he was pushing that ticket. I will be really surprised if he still is.

Although, he has said that he was so inspired by a speech from Obamba TWICE that he donated to his campaign (the race speech and his Portland speech). And he said he is still waiting for Hillary to say or do something that inspires him enough that he will donate to her.

and I agree with all your points, if there is a silver lining with the comment friday, it would have to be that most people will not expect him to ask her to be on the ticket!

8. Remember, Friday's show was aired before HRC's comments became known
I have a feeling he was already starting to do a 190-degree change right after he heard them. If not, it would be inconsistent with his character and his ability to reason.

To put it charitably, she has shown herself not to have the sense of judgment, perspective or self-control required to be VP, let alone the president. And BO has every reason now to reject the notion of offering her a spot on the ticket. I don't know how any SD who cares about this country could support her now.

I say all of that as an over-50 white female who vigorously used to defend both the Clintons.
