Customs slip cannabis into passenger's bag
http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapcf/05/26/tokyo.cannabis/index.html?iref=mpstoryview

(CNN) -- A passenger who landed at Tokyo's Narita airport over the weekend has ended up with a surprise souvenir courtesy of customs officials -- a package of cannabis.

A customs official hid the package in a suitcase belonging to a passenger arriving from Hong Kong as part of an exercise for sniffer dogs on Sunday, Reuters.com reported.

However, staff then lost track of the drugs and suitcase during the exercise, a spokeswoman for Tokyo customs said.

1. Holy...
OK, let's say that this little slip-up wasn't welcomed by the person who got the pot.

What happens the next time this person goes through security and a dog gets a hit off the residual odor?

What an unbelievable invasion of privacy! If they want to test the dogs, they need to just add a mock suitcase to the luggage. It doesn't have to be an actual passenger bag, for the love of...

AUGH! People are so stupid sometimes!

4. It would be my luck...
that I would be pulled over by the cops on my way home from the airport and searched.... what a nasty surprise that weed would be!

6. Yeah, you and me both.
The article says they're supposed to use a training suitcase, and that was my point.

Even so, how many innocent people's suitcases have been used, and they then got stopped and searched later because of the dogs getting a hit? Incredible.

9. And...
if that passenger is flying off to somewhere like Singapore, he/she would end up with the death penalty if caught.

That's really nothing to screw around with.

17. ain't nothing better in the world than
getting to your destination and finding the cops have rifled through every piece of clothes, toiletries, books and what not, finding a bag of weed would be on the up side. Of course, I would get pulled over and it would be just enough to count as trafficing, away to the hoosegow with ya then.
