1. For me it would be just a few seconds of a George W. Bush speech.
I can hardly bear to listen to that jabbering moron at this point.

Mahler does go on -- good point. Rachmaninoff is long too but after Rachmaninoff, everything's hunkey-dory.

4. Agreed
At least with Rachmaninoff, and even Mahler, you know there's going to be an end.

With him, the memory of him just lingers long after he's been folded up and put away in his box for the night.

All things being equal, I'd rather drive on glare ice without headlights in the dark while getting a root canal without anesthetic.

6. Olbermann is not at all agonizing to listen to.
It's nice to have someone on our side in the corporate media. Or perhaps I should say it's nice of the corporate media to let us to believe we have some semblance of freedom by allowing at least one person to tell the truth.
