They Treat Us Like Idiots and We Clamor For More

I was looking through the channel guide to see if there was anything worth watching tonight when I noticed that one of the major stations (Cable or network, I don't remember) has a program on this evening titled "The Race For The Whitehouse" It pissed me off. This is not a god dam race for the Whitehouse, it is the election of the President of the United States, one of if not the most powerful positions on earth. Who in hell are these people to trivialize such an important event? Where in hell is the substance of the Candidates positions - why do I have to go to the Internet to find out a single damned thing about what any of the would be Presidents plans to do with my country?

I am so sick of our election being reported on like it was a process of selection of a Prom Queen. Give me some information; what will be our foreign policy, how will we raise funds, what about oil, what are we really going to do about it, how about American jobs, what plan is there to promote improved education. I don't want a god dam 30 second sound bite on the issues, let's hear some of these speeches the candidates give actually have some substance to them. I have not heard one worthwhile word come out of any of the would be nominees mounts since John Edwards, Joe Biden, and Criss Dodd dropped out. What is it? Don't they think we can take a little bit of real information or is the truth so horrible or is that they simply have nothing to offer?
