Bush and McSame are met by protesters in Arizona
Edited on Tue May-27-08 10:08 PM by DesertRat
"At his first stop during a brief visit in Arizona, President Bush was greeted by protesters shouting anti-war slogans Tuesday and carrying signs denouncing Republican presidential hopeful John McCain.

The president was making an appearance at Silverado Cable Company, a family-owned business in Mesa that manufactures electric wiring assemblies for aircraft and military vehicles.

A common complaint among the 250 protesters who lined the sidewalk near the business was that a McCain victory would be a continuation of the Bush administration. Protesters often cited their opposition to the war in Iraq.

After he leaves the cable business, Bush is scheduled to attend a private fundraiser for McCain at a home in Phoenix."

edit: our local Phoenix news station reported 400 protesters. And thankfully * has left our state.

2. I'm sure McSame regrets that hug now!

President Bush leans over to kiss Cindy McCain as he is accompanied by Republican presidential candidate, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., before Bush boards Air Force One at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, after Bush attended a private campaign fundraising event for McCain in Phoenix, Tuesday, May 27, 2008

4. Where can we get those Wrong Way McBush posters
I'll put one in my front window and my car window. Hell, I'll wear them as a sandwich sign board.

6. What? No "Free Speech Zones"?
Witnessing protests must be a new experience for them, particularly Bush.

It was originally sceduled for our Civic Plaza Convention Center--and it moved to a space in an industrial park?!

I was hearing rumors that there were more protestors than attendees--bwahahahahahahahahahaha!

I'm sure they couldn't come close to filling the Phoenix Convention Center! And they had better security from all those pesky protesters too.

Wish I could've been there for this. I really think we can put this state in play in November or at least bring it closer; though it's McSame's state, you wouldn't know it, at least if bumper stickers are anything to go by. Practically every other one I see is an Obama one; I've also seen a handful of Hillary stickers, but only a couple of McCain ones. And not just around the University, where Obama is overwhelmingly the favorite...but all over town. Of course this is here in Tucson, which is arguably more liberal than Phoenix, so I'm glad to see anti McCain/Bush action there, too...and if there were more protestors than atendees, then all the better! Muhahahaha

Kudos to you guys for organizing this! :)
