Weird day. The cockroaches actually came out of hiding.
I'm thoroughly disgusted. And creeped out.

5. Maybe global warming...
...is confusing them.

They don't know whether to hide in dark corners, post baloney or shine their exoskeletons.

2. I've only seen 2 here so far
which is odd because usually the floor in the kitchen is full of 'em at night. We get the big desert cucarachas here, bugs that live outdoors but slip in through every crevice and crack to forage.

I do notice the daddy longlegs spiders getting fatter, though, so maybe the cucarachas have adjusted their hours to mine.

3. Maybe the head...
...roachess gave the signal?

They usually march in lockstep--hoping that their orchestrated
drivel will somehow make some whopping, history-altering difference.

So far...not so much.

4. Are you talking about actual cockroaches or metaphoric ones?
Do you have Palmetto Bugs in Texas too? We got the BIG ones here.

7. That was my question too. I thought you were referring to the old Bushites.

8. Not sure which roaches the OP was speaking of but...
Yes, Texas has those scary ass Palmetto Bugs.

Here's a pic of one for proof.

Nothing you use on them, no matter how strong, seems to solve the problem. :scared:

11. Did those things just show up in the South in the last 20 years or so?
Because, I don't remember them in Georgia in the 1980's.

But then I move to Central Florida and, I swear to you, the first night I was there, I saw this thing wriggling around on it's back near a street light that was 3 1/2 inches long. I didn't know what it was, though it was a turtle at first, but then I flipped it over and WOW, that was the biggest one I'd ever seen.

13. The actual cockroaches...
came out and gathered around my tee-vee and began chanting at Bartlett. Then, they took a break and smoked some cigarettes and cast evil glances over their little bug shoulders at me working at my desk. I just sat here and watched them haul off the remote so they could flip around the dial seeking out their bug superiors and that's when they found Ari. More chanting. Now, more cigs as they wait for more of their messiahs to show up on Wolf and Tweety.

10. Speaking of cockroaches, I found a 37-year-dead cockroach

Squashed inside my Plastic Ono Band record the other day. Different time, different place. John Lennon would have loved Obama.
