Scott McClellan's book
Well it will be interesting to see how well this book does. Clearly the reason Scott wrote this book now is the same reason most people write books. $$$ If Bush was riding record popularity numbers and the Republicans were getting 75 K showing up at McSame events, no doubt McClellan would have written a very different book. It's certainly a gamble. A pro-rethug book is certain to "make" it's money on pre-sales and then go straight to the bargain bin. A few "negative" insiders views of the Bush White House books were written before, but had no real commercial impact. Here McClellan is trying to do something nearly unheard of. Have a Republican written book that is actually purchased and read by humans. The climate seems right for this type of book. If he succeeds no doubt others from the administration will follow, if the book fails no doubt there will be far less incentive for kiss and tell Bush books to come.

1. Word is it's #2 on Amazon today
I'll read it in a library or at Barnes and Noble. I'm not giving him a dime.

2. Since pro-Bush folks are not readers, pro-Bush books would not sell.

3. well they do sell
They are bought in bulk buy right wing focus groups, sit in warehouses and then get given away at events. But it's hard to find someone that's read them.
