Seen on a bumper sticker this morning:
Seen this morning, on an SUV doing about 75 in a 55 zone:

"Drive the speed limit, and be free from foreign oil".

Sometimes, I really wish hypocrisy was painful.

2. That's OK, my best friend in high school
back in the day, a committed liberal/progressive... had a bumper sticker that read

"Save the Whales: Boycott Japanese goods"

on the rear of his Datsun B210.

(his heart was in the right place)

3. I have been driving 60 mph for a couple of weeks now - on the highway of course.
It's actually kind of pleasant and I'm not late getting wherever I'm going.

4. WHERE TO BUY AMERICAN GASOLINE.
My aunt sent me an email (title above) giving me the names of all the service stations selling US vs. Saudi fuel. Sometimes these "simple" solutions are really annoying to read.

5. Hipocrisy may not be painful, but racism has a price tag.
Prince William county VA has instituted an arguably racist stance against "illegal aliens" and Latinos are leaving in droves. Everyone who even looks Hispanic is a potential target for a police stop ("your papers, please") and many have chosen to vote with their feet and remove themselves, as well as their fiscal contributions to the tax base, from the county.

Aside from the lack of people to do the "jobs nobody else wants" (or any of the other myriad jobs they fill) and pay the taxes that the rich no longer have to, the county tax base is crashing as they abandon homes and apartments for the friendlier climates of other VA counties, MD and DC. The higher vacancy rates are depressing an already struggling real estate market and businesses are closing. A Bolivian friend of mine told me houses in his neighborhood are selling for as little as half what they were two years ago.

Oh, and the county government is raising all manner of taxes to pay for the anti-immigrant programs the "native" Americans (at least a touch of hypocrisy there) thought they wanted a year ago.

The racists who asked for this know what they've done to themselves, but I haven't heard anyone say "I'm sorry" or "I was wrong".... Yet.
