They don't tell their customers anything.

Comcast closed their smtp port to us a couple of months ago. No warning, we just suddenly couldn't send emails anymore. I made three phonecalls to support and not one of them told me what had been done. Had to figure it out and then plan a workaround by myself.

If we had a hi-speed alternative I'd change ISPs in a heartbeat.

It's now http://www6.comcast.net/a/

It's behaving unstably, so it may change again.

Comcast's communications skills need work: I only found the above URL by accident. After my Comcast page turned up empty, I googled comcast.net and got the above.

Don't trust modified urls. You never know if it's been hijacked.

But I do agree Comcast has zero communication skills.

Comcast email and domain hacked

Comcast.net and e-mails evidently got hacked on Wednesday.

Unknown hackers tapped into the Comcast system, but it appears that the site is back under Comcast control.

A "Page under Construction" message, but users have reported that the page was previously showing messages posted by Hackers like this screen cap below:


Comcast users weren't able to access their email sign in pages, the main website or any of the company's online features.

This Comcast hacking has left customers wondering how they may have been violated. Could their passwords, credit cards and social security numbers be at risk?

We'll have to wait until Comcast releases a statement to find out.

25. yes, there's problems. recently called and found out. here, use Mobile url to get e-mail

m.comcast.net

then type in your info. that's if you need your email in a dire emergency (finals and all for students).

also recently had a problem w/ their smtp no longer accepting my emails and them not notifying us. irritating, but it should be resolved with some well placed phone calls after this hax0rz mess gets fixed. if not, well, let's just say i know how to write letters...

26. Thankfully my last day with comcast is scheduled for June 4th

When we dump the final link that has been holding us hostage which is our high speed 'net. We are switching over to Qworst which isn't much better but its fiber optics. I couldn't get any faster than 256k with Qworst but they just upgraded our area with Fiops, so I will be among the first customers. Wife wanted max, so we will get 20mb.
