Edited on Thu May-29-08 06:26 PM by KG
he was slimey opportunist everyday stood up before the world and lied his ass off for bushco. now, he's a slimey opportunist who's written a book for a bunch of dough.

he was part of the texas mafia all his life and worked for bushco before he was their lying face. and he wants us to believe he was suddenly shocked, SHOCKED! to find out they were all a bunch of murderous, lying, traitorous, greedy bastards?

yea, right.

the damage is done, there's nothing noble about him, or his book.

1. Yes he is. He's told us nothing that we didn't already know.
But, it is nice to get it confirmed by an "official source" every now and then.

4. Boy, I agree with you! Been trying to find the words to express that
and now you have! No matter how much he plays to my sense of how things really went in the WH, he still did the job and no one can tell me he was ignorant of how things worked. This is all very convenient for him. I will never buy his book.

16. If was truly noble he would have spoken up when it mattered.
Someone else told me today that he would have faced too much personal risk, an argument I don't care about. That's the point of having courage, which he lacked.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's saying what he's saying because it can't help Bushco, but for me it's way too little, way too late.

And he's no fucking hero.

13. I'll second that.
There's no way he didn't know what was going on. He chose to lie every day. Like the rest of BushCo he put himself before his country. No excuse.

FUCK Scotty.

Edited on Thu May-29-08 06:55 PM by fascisthunter
I don't need to LIKE him or RESPECT him to be happy about this. I'm not sure any one else here is really suggesting we should sit around and sing kumbaya with the guy. We know he was a HACK and LIED for a living. He must've been a real loser in the first place for being friends with Bush, but that doesn't mean anyone should reject the latest information right out of hand either. I think his spilling the beans was perfect.... with Bush's lowest approval ratings yet this information comes out and now guess what? It's Bush credibility vs. Scotty's.... and McCain tied to George's hip right before an election.

20. I'm glad he's seen the light. We need more people to come forward with what they know.
It doesn't make him a good guy or anything. But I don't feel like contributing to the Whitehouse led effort to slam him personally for his betrayal. We need more people to betray Bush - he's not in jail yet.

Edited on Thu May-29-08 07:15 PM by Warpy
He's trying to paint Bush as some sort of muzzy headed idealist instead of the imperialist we all know him to be from his campaign speeches on Iraq in 2000. He always intended to invade that country on some flimsy pretext or other. They had OIL.

At least he has now outed Stupid as approving the Plame leak.

Where the hell is Fitzgerald?

24. He still is. According to his interview on "Today", he still thinks the boy king
has good intentions.

And...

He thinks McSame would put an end to Washington's perpetual-campaigning political atmosphere; apparently, this is McSame's newest campaign lie talking point.

On the other hand, he insinuated that because Obama has been talking about changing the way Washington does business, that it would be as empty as what the boy king promised in 2000: to be a "uniter, not a divider" & that he, also, promised he would change the way Washington does business. Horsedung.

28. I am amazed by the fact that so many are concentrating on
Scott the messenger rather than the usefulness of the information he revealed. Do we want to disregard this insider info because we are disrespectful of the writer?

Those of us on DU have long known that Bush and his people were arch crooks. But, we were on the outside with no verifiable evidence to prove what we presumed to be the truth. We should encourage other insiders to spill the beans. They are not likely to do that if everyone on both sides
bashes them.

29. I absolutely agree with you. He didn't have to speak out at all, & I appreciate that.
But he still feels protective of the boy king & isn't entirely out of the bubble yet. And watch the "Today" interview for the comments he made about McSame & Obama at the end of the 15-minute video, at which point he sounds as though he's endorsing McSame & then linking Obama's campaign promises to those of the boy king's in 2000. Even for someone who isn't sold on any candidate yet, that sounded like he still hasn't cut the leash held by his former boss.

30. The only thing that matters to me is whether or not the information
in his book is of any value to America as it tries to wrest power from the hands of the neocons and
McClellan going to be a source of additional good inside information.
